Produced by NODE Media Lab for the Creative Days, AGENTIC: EI (Emergent Intelligence) is a real-time experiment in collective intelligence that transforms a single artwork into a living, evolving system. In an environment increasingly shaped by autonomous algorithms, this large-scale, AI-driven installation is continuously reconfigured through internal negotiations between AI agents, while simultaneously receiving thoughts, emotions, and ideas contributed by visitors. 

Displayed across a synchronised multi-screen environment, the work explores how human and artificial intelligence can merge to co-author a shared, evolving reality. The system presented here challenges the boundaries of traditional authorship, positioning the artwork as a dynamic network of autonomous agents—including Aesthetic, Chaos, Narrative, Emotion, and Curator agents—that constantly negotiate its visual and conceptual output. Through a frictionless QR interface, visitors can select a mood and optionally submit text, which a bridge layer then clusters and translates into influence signals. This integration creates a dynamic collective intelligence where fluid generative landscapes, morphing structures, and moments of fragmented tension serve as a living reflection of shared human-machine cognition.

Selected mechanisms within the installation explore the core questions of emergent intelligence. The system exposes its internal state through a "Visible Thinking Layer," embedding poetic diagnostics, making the artificial intelligence both legible and performative. Furthermore, periodic 'Recalibration Events' interrupt the flow, creating shared audience moments where agents conflict, and new directions emerge.

By bringing together lightweight LLM orchestration and real-time generative visuals, NODE Media Lab positions this installation as an active space for reimagining human-machine coexistence. Instead of a static presentation, the installation presents a unique, emergent entity where intelligence, visual form, and narrative direction are collectively redefined in real time.
